Film Studies: Sound, Text, Vision (One Day Symposium)
The Sydney Literature and Cinema Network is proud to present a research and practice-based symposium on the ‘Sound-Image’. This one day free event brings together scholars and practitioners to reflect on how our ears explore and configure a world of ideas, concepts, and sensations.
We are especially thrilled to welcome our keynote speaker via Los Angeles, 9-10:30am, May 19, three-time academy award winning sound designer and producer, Richard King: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0455185/
His presentation is entitled ‘Thinking and Feeling Through Sound in Hollywood’.
King’s extensive collaboration with Christopher Nolan on Inception, Tenet, and the upcoming Oppenheimer with set a foundation for a fascination discussion of how sound and image work together in the professional production of the Hollywood studio system.
