Quinn Eades and Francesca Rendle-Short: Writing Bodies and Lives: HDR/MCW dissertation masterclass on ‘hybrid research thinking’,

In 2022, the Discipline of English is hosting the inaugural John Rowe Writers-in-Residence from 5–9 September. Reading and writing contemporary Australian literature is fundamental to understanding and engaging with the major themes and issues shaping Australian lived experience. It is a key activity of English, particularly in Australian Literary Studies and Creative Writing.

Quinn and Francesca will talk about their hybrid, research/exegesis/eisegesis/prepositional thinking. How to approach it, speak publicly as poets and writers in systems that want to contain what we make, how we shift it, inroads, creatively explore, how we do that in practice within the institution, articulate it in a particular way so that the institution understands it and accepts it, practice-led research has a history, and we talk about our histories.

This is a hybrid event. Please register as places are limited. Register for either Zoom or in-person here.
