
SCA: GILBERT FELLOWSHIP LECTURE SERIES | Cherine Fahd
Cherine Fahd is one of Australia’s leading photographic artists. For over twenty years she has exhibited, written and curated works that focus on photography and video performance. Her projects often incorporate members of the public as well as her immediate family, friends and community. Concentrating on portraiture as a cultural and social practice, her work focuses on how art can bring people and communities together.
Fahd’s recent projects have been commissioned by major cultural institutions in Australia, including Sydney Opera House, Carriageworks, Performance Space, Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Cherine has a PhD from Monash University Melbourne and is currently Associate Professor at UTS. Hear the 2022 Gilbert Fellow speak to her practice and illustrious career.
